Data extraction from Opendap server
A tool is made available, allowing you to extract and download Mercator ocean data according to your selection criteria in terms of geaographical area, date, ocean parameter, and depth.
URL: http://atoll-motu.mercator-ocean.fr
The welcome page is displaying the data catalog available on the server:

Welcome page of the extraction interface: products catalog. Each operational system (currently 4: PSY3V2, PSY3V1, PSY2V2, PSY1V2) is represented by one or several products corresponding to geographical areas (see the standard grids products description).
- Select the product and, within this product, the area.
- Select the model data (Best estimates) or climatological data (Levitus Climatology, monthly average, based upon Levitus'98)
A new page is displayed presenting products, associated services, and metadata (geographical and temporal characteristics, and the list of available ocean variables):

Exemple of selection of PSY3V2 global product: header with the link to the extraction page.
After visualizing product metadata, go to the extraction page by clicking on "Downloading and extraction service".
The line "Opendap direct access" leads to the classical Opendap catalog server page.
If you select the Downloading and extraction service, a new page is displayed, inviting you to select:
- The output format. Currently the only one that is proposed is the netCDF format (COARDS/CF 1.0 convention)
- Geographical criteria: minimum and maximum longitudes and latitudes
- Temporal criteria: start date, end date
- Depth criteria: minimum and maximum depth
- Ocean variable(s) (multi-selection is available).
Click then on the "download" button. A window is dispalyed for saving the netCDF file on your computer.
Command line extraction is also available. You have to create command files and execute them according to your operating system.
